About the Museum

The Apartheid Museum in South Africa explains and shows visitors the history of apartheid in South Africa and what the people did to overcome this. The Apartheid Museum was opened in 2001 by the government of South Africa. It is known today as a preeminent museum for apartheid history. The museum tells of the rise and fall of the apartheid history in South Africa and what happened during this time. It is a Section 21 company so it relies on the donations to sustain their growth. The museum has 22 individual exhibits that use photographs, film footage, text panels, and artifacts to describe the events of apartheid. To this day the museum has given hope to world and shows it that South Africa is working for their future that every South African has the ability to call it their own. The Apartheid Museum in South Africa explains the apartheid history and what people did to overcome this.  The museum was built in  2001 to teach people  about apartheid in South Africa.
